Puma AE, is an aircraft that was introduced by AeroVironment. The aircraft is powered by energy from solar cells, Puma AE has the ability to fly is quite reliable.
Puma AE, able to survive in the air nonstop for 9 hours and 11 minutes. The ability was 2 hours longer than the Puma AE that uses standard batteries.
Solar cells on the Puma AE using gallium arsenide (GaAs), which is produced by Alta Devices. AeroVironment senior VP, Roy Minson said that the solar cell is capable of producing power that can be used for long-haul flights.
Puma AE small plane itself is often used in intelligence operations by the U.S. military since 2008. Company parties also plan to test the ability of small unmanned aircraft to fly in the Arctic region.
